Best Candidates for EMSELLA

The best candidates for EMSELLA treatments are people in good general health who feel that they have a constant urge to urinate. In most cases, this sensation is due to weakened pelvic floor muscles. Strong pelvic floor muscles provide control over the bladder and bowel. Candidates may have developed weakened pelvic floor muscles after giving birth, going through menopause, or due to the natural aging process.

If you hope to achieve greater pleasure and confidence during intimacy, Dr. Harrington may also recommend feminine rejuvenation treatments designed to enhance women’s sexual satisfaction. Dr. Harrington also offers surgical labiaplasty at her plastic surgery center.

What to Expect

EMSELLA treatments use electromagnetic waves to strengthen and rejuvenate the pelvic floor muscles and tissue while keeping the skin surface in the treatment area unaffected and unharmed. During your EMSELLA treatment, you will sit comfortably on a specially designed chair that emits the electromagnetic energy, stimulating muscle contractions and restoring neuromuscular control.

We find that most patients benefit from a course of 6 total treatments over a 3 week period. EMSELLA treatments do not require anesthesia and our patients report feeling entirely comfortable throughout the treatment cycle.

Recovery & Results

Emsella Before After

EMSELLA is a nonsurgical procedure that doesn’t require any downtime. You may return to your normal routine immediately following your appointment. You may observe improvement after a single session. The results will typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

EMSELLA FAQs

Q. How does EMSELLA work?
EMSELLA treatments work by stimulating your body’s pelvic floor muscles using electromagnetic waves. This controlled stimulation promotes muscle strengthening, resulting in better control over urination.
Q. How well does EMSELLA work?
In clinical studies, EMSELLA has been found to achieve a 64% improvement in urinary incontinence on average. Over half of patients reduce their need to use hygiene pads.
Q. How many EMSELLA treatments will I need?
Typically, we recommend a total of 6 treatments over a 3 week timespan. We can tailor the treatment cycle to maximize your pelvic floor tightening as needed.
Q. How long does an EMSELLA treatment take?
EMSELLA treatments are relatively quick and should only take about 30 minutes.
Q. Does EMSELLA change anything about how my abdomen or groin area looks?
No, EMSELLA only affects the internal musculature of the pelvic floor. If you are hoping for a tightened look to your abdomen or genital area, talk with us more about your surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic options. One option is to pair EMSCULPT NEO for the abs with EMSELLA for a complete “core to the floor” treatment.
