Avéli® Cellulite Treatment

With so many cellulite treatment options, it can be hard to know what’s right for you. Avéli® is the latest advance in the fight against cellulite, and we have found this therapy to be particularly effective in delivering a smoother appearance to the skin on the thighs and buttocks.

Avéli is a minimally invasive, single treatment that is FDA cleared to reduce the appearance of cellulite. SpaVie is the first practice in Minnesota to offer this advanced cellulite treatment. It works by manually cutting the connective tissue bands that pull on the skin, creating the dreaded dimples characteristic of cellulite.

Why Choose SpaVie?

  • We offer 4 of the latest non-surgical cellulite reduction methods and can custom-tailor a set of treatments to help you achieve the smoother skin you want.
  • Headed by one of the leading female plastic surgeons in the nation, SpaVie is proud to be a premier destination for women and men interested in bringing out their best look.
  • SpaVie’s location in Plymouth serves the Twin Cities as well as outlying communities including Minnetonka, Wayzata, St. Cloud and Sartell.

Best Candidates for Avéli Cellulite Reduction

People who have Avéli treatments should be in good health and have realistic expectations that they can expect to see smoother skin after treatment, but not necessarily 100% reduction in the appearance of cellulite. The treatment may be a good option in particular for women with busy schedules, since most women only need a single treatment to see the results they want.

If you are also interested in improving your body contour while treating cellulite, we offer several complimentary options worth considering. CoolSculpting® can remove unwanted fat cells so you can enjoy both the shape and skin tone you really want in your midsection and thighs.

What to Expect

Cellulite is caused by bands of connective tissue beneath the skin’s surface putting tension on the skin. The only lasting way to effectively remove cellulite is to release the tension from these tissue bands. Avéli works by cutting these bands in a precise, targeted way that allows us to create a smoother skin tone without over-treatment and with fewer side-effects.

Before starting treatment, we will administer local anesthetic in the area to be treated. The Avéli device is inserted through several small incisions and carefully guided beneath the skin to locate and sever the connective tissue bands creating cellulite dimples.

Total treatment time varies but on average, Avéli treatments are completed in about 2 to 3 hours. We are excited to offer our Avéli patients BTL CELLUTONE as part of their cellulite treatment. CELLUTONE uses the power of therapeutic vibrations to increase lymphatic drainage, waste elimination and blood flow. It addresses the main factors causing cellulite formation and can lead to a considerable improvement in post-treatment skin appearance.

Recovery & Results

Because Avéli involves manipulating and cutting tissue beneath the skin, some bruising and swelling after treatment is expected. Some discomfort may occur for the first day or two after treatment, as the local anesthetic wears off. Bruising and tenderness may remain for up to a month, when your final results are revealed. Other complications are possible and we’ll discuss these with you so you know what to watch for.

Avéli FAQs

Q. Does Avéli only treat cellulite dimples?
The Avéli procedure cuts septa bands below the skin’s surface that cause cellulite dimples. It does not address other concerns often seen alongside cellulite, such as skin laxity or excess fat, though we do have other treatments that can help with these concerns.
Q. Will I need multiple treatment sessions?
Avéli is designed to be a single, in-office procedure. During a single procedure we can fully address the targeted cellulite dimples on both your buttocks and thighs.
Q. How long does an Avéli procedure take?
A typical Avéli procedure will take around an hour, including local anesthesia and the procedure itself. The total time will vary depending on your personalized procedure plan.
Q. Can I work out or exercise after the procedure?
We recommend pausing any strenuous activities or workouts in the first few days/weeks after the procedure to allow the area to heal.
Q. How quickly will I see improvement in my cellulite?
The results should be visible once swelling and bruising subside, usually about a month after the procedure.
Q. How long will the results last?
Participants in a clinical study demonstrated a reduction in the appearance of their cellulite when assessed at 3 months after the procedure. Study participants will continue to be followed through 12 months post-procedure.
