Candidates for Profound skin tightening treatments should be in good overall health with realistic expectations for their results. Most people who get Profound treatments are men or women experiencing signs of aging such as sagging skin, deep creases and loss of volume around the mouth, cheeks and neck. Profound treatments are sometimes referred to as a “nonsurgical facelift,” and can also be used to contour the neck and jaw area, minimizing jowls or a double chin.

What to Expect
Before your Profound treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your face, followed by an injection of numbing medicine to further minimize discomfort during the procedure. Your healthcare provider will then pass the Profound handpiece over your skin. The handpiece consists of a cartridge containing five pairs of microneedles with electrodes that deliver fractional radiofrequency energy to the skin and tissue. This causes the skin to tighten and tone by activating cell regeneration, collagen and your natural healing processes.

Recovery & Results
Following your Profound treatment, you can expect to develop some facial redness and swelling which should fade over the next 2 to 5 days. You can resume your normal activities 24 hours after treatment, including wearing makeup. You may have slight pinkness or puffiness for a few days after your appointment, but this should fade with time. Some people develop mild temporary bruising as well.
Your results will gradually develop over the following several weeks and months. You should notice your skin becoming firmer, tighter and more toned. You may notice a decrease in folds or sagging, helping you appear younger and more refreshed.
